Martin Luther King, Jr. once asked, “What are you doing for others?” The students at Landmark Christian School have a meaningful answer. Land of Promise had the privilege of introducing the concept of volunteering to these enthusiastic students.

According to Parent-Volunteer.org, “By participating in volunteer activities, kids can develop empathy, compassion, kindness, and humility. Engaging in such activities not only nurtures these qualities but also fosters a sense of social responsibility and civic engagement.”
Research indicates that teenagers who volunteer tend to be more responsible and possess higher self-esteem. Moreover, volunteering equips them with valuable skills, including leadership, effective communication, time management, and decision-making. My personal journey into volunteering, which was encouraged by my parents, started at an early age and laid the foundation for the creation of LOP.

The students at Landmark Christian School know what they are doing for others. They recently contributed by packing beans and rice for our June Community Food Distribution. Their hard work has significantly benefited our organization, saving us time and allowing me to focus on other important tasks.
