LOP Joins the Hunger Walk/Run

Step up this spring and make a difference for families, children and seniors struggling with hunger in our community. Enjoy live music, Atlanta’s best food trucks, children’s play zone and more!

Land of Promise joins the Atlanta Community Food Bank's Hunger Walk/Run to raise money for hunger relief.  On Sunday, March 5, 2017, thousands of people will come together to raise awareness and funds to help fight hunger in our community. Our team will be there – and we need your support!

 

Eighty percent of the money we raise will directly support Land of Promise (LOP). LOP's mission is to is to bring awareness, inspire hope and develop programs to address food inequities nationally and internationally. Our Nourish the Need Weekend Food Backpack Program is in 14 Fulton County Schools and serving over 200 students a week. Your donation will help us expand this program to more schools and students. Hunger Walk/Run is one of the most important hunger relief efforts of the year. The money we raise will feed hope for the Fulton County students who face hunger on the weekends.

Nearly 1.8 million Georgians (18.5%) are living in poverty and struggle to put food on the table. The Hunger Walk/Run helps raise much needed funds and awareness for local nonprofit hunger relief organizations which operate food distribution programs including: child care facilities, food pantries, senior centers, women’s shelters, community kitchens and other essential service providers helping people in need. 

By participating, you’ll enjoy a fun, family-friendly, festival atmosphere including live music, Atlanta’s best food trucks, educational activities, children’s play zone and much more. You can make a difference for people facing hunger in our community. A $30 donation will help create more than 120 meals. It’s fun and easy!
