As the founder of Land of Promise (LOP), one of my responsibilities is to recruit board members. The United Way Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP) Board Recruitment Fair is the opportunity for LOP to gain highly trained and qualified board members. On Saturday, October 28, 2017, VIP celebrated 25 years of impacting communities at their anniversary gala. The keynote speaker and special guest was Hill Harper, award-winning actor, best-selling author and philanthropist. Hill Harper gave an energetic message of his investments of purchasing a home and business, The Roasting Plant Coffee, in Detroit to create jobs and contribute to the city’s revitalization.
